What to Pack for your Cruise

Keep the following documents in your handbag or carryon luggage

 

  • Passport or Medicare card (for a domestic cruise)

  • Visa’s (if required)

  • Medication

  • Boarding pass or tickets

  • Lanyards

 

Do not leave home without the following 

  • Travel insurance

  • House keys

  • Wallet with ID and credit cards

  • Cruise cash and local currency, if required

 

ELECTRONICS 

What gadgets do you really want on your cruise? 

  • Mobile phone and charger

  • Camera, go pro, laptop, kindle, iPad, all chargers, selfie stick

  • Overseas power adapter (if required)

  • Music device and headphones

  • Hair straightener

 

STATIONARY 

  • Books, notebook and pen

  • Bingo markers

  • Highlighter to highlight your daily activities

 

Tip:     Most ships will have a library on board where you will find, books, playing cards and other board games which can be borrowed.

 

TOILETRIES 

Your cabin will have soap, bath and beach towels, face washer and the ship

will sell a range of toiletry products should you run out. 

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Sunscreen, zinc, after sun gel

  • Mosquito repellent (with DEET), Stingose

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss

  • Razers, shaving crème

  • Feminine hygiene products

  • Facial moisturizer, other skin product, lip balm

  • Shampoo, conditioner, hair products (they are supplied on board in bulk)

  • Hairbrush, comb, hairclips, bobby pins, hair ties

  • Small first aid kit

  • Sea sickness tablets and sea bands

  • Air freshener for toilet, Glen 20

 

EXTRAS 

Most ships will have a laundry service and dry cleaning, however not cheap! 

 

Some ships offer self-service washing machines/laundry powder and clothes

dryers however charges apply. 

  • Umbrella, light raincoat

  • Sunglasses, spare pair of reading glasses

  • Contacts and cleaning solution

  • Reef shoes, snorkel and goggles

  • Empty water bottle, you can fill it on board

  • Earplugs, eye mask

  • Binoculars

  • Hats

  • Costume jewelry

  • Magnetic hooks and plastic pegs, mini clothesline

 

WHAT TO TAKE ON A SHORE EXCURSION 

  • Beach bag

  • Sea pass card

  • Swim aids or pool noodle, great for snorkeling

  • Passports and copy of passport including proof of travel insurance

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: Each ship provides guidelines around what items are

not allowed on board, please refer to the booking and travel conditions for your 

cruise.

 

TRAVEL INSURANCE 

If your cruise takes you to either Fiji and New Caledonia all guests will be required to hold international travel insurance that has cruise coverage. Guests must bring printed proof of travel insurance with them.
